Another Clapotis

in General Knitting

I’m making pretty good progress on Heroine. So far, I’ve finished the back and left side, and I’m about 3/4 the way through the left side. However, it’s such a big project that it’s really not all that conducive to portable knitting. So, I started another project last night at knitting group:

ClapotisYes, that’s right, it’s another Clapotis. I know everyone’s done one – in fact I’ve already done one myself, but it’s a really enjoyable knit, made more so by the beautiful Malabrigo Silky Merino yarn I’m using. What I find most interesting about this pattern is that it really looks like nothing much until you drop the stitches – and then – magic.

Update: this post shows how it looks once you start dropping stitches.
everyone’s done one
– not quite everyone! I find the thought of deliberately dropping stitches a scary one, but the effect is great. I’ll add it to my ‘to do’ list!
