Heroine

This is my version of the Heroine sweater (a Twist Collective pattern). As I suspected, this was a really quick knit – it probably took me just over two weeks in total. The knitting went fairly smoothly. The only problem was a glitch in the pattern for the right front, which I didn’t notice until I was several inches into it. The pattern has since been corrected.

I was a little nervous about doing the fulling (felting) after seaming the sweater up, just because I have a front-loading washer which doesn’t allow you to open it up during the wash cycle, so there is little opportunity to control the amount of fulling. However, because it was snowy and cold out, I opted to do it at home anyway instead of going to the laundromat.

I ran it through one wash cycle with a couple of pairs of jeans, and although it shrunk a bit, it wasn’t quite enough. On the second cycle, it was just about perfect.

Anyway, this is probably about my favorite sweater I’ve ever knit.
