Ingeo®

Ingeo® and EcoMaiz® are both trademarked names for fiber that is made from corn. Ingeo fiber is shiny and silky to the touch, and has a long staple length (approximately 4 inches).

When spinning Ingeo® with a spinning wheel, you should make sure your tension is set very low. Ingeo will require quite a lot of twist to hold together well.

Occasionally, you can find auctions for Ingeo fibre on eBay. Any current auctions are listed below.

If you don’t see what you’re looking for above, check at Morro Fleece Works. They seem to carry Ingeo fiber and Ingeo fiber blends fairly regularly.

Paradise Fibers also carries Ingeo fiber, so you may also want to check there to make sure you’re getting the best price.

If you’d like some more information about Ingeo®, I’d suggest checking out the Ingeo Fibers site. There’s a lot of interesting information there, including a fairly detailed description on how Ingeo is made.
