Silk/Wool
When wool and silk fibers are blended together, you get a combination that has the best properties of each. A silk wool fiber blend will have the springiness or elasticity of wool with the softness, strength and sheen of silk. The exact properties of the blend will vary depending upon the type of wool that’s used and the percentage of wool and silk used.
You’ll find auctions for silk/wool fiber blends in various forms – batts, rovings and tops – ready for spinning below. Click a picture or description to get more information or to place a bid.

Paradise Fibers is another great source for some beautiful wool-silk blends. You’ll find some wonderful color combinations on their site.
You might want to consider using a wool silk fiber blend for projects meant for people who are sensitive to the perceived scratchiness of wool but are not actually allergic to it, because the blend will feel much softer than the wool would feel on its own.
